Brief: The aim is to pressure the Government to remove the Chief Coroner’s Office from the Public Bodies Bill. This refers to Ken Clarke, the Secretary of State for Justice, who is the key decision maker we need to influence. Our campaign takes place against the backdrop of a recent success, enshrining the Military Covenant in law.
The chief purpose is for MPs to be inundated with relevant emails at key moments in the passage of legislation. The success of the project on this basis.

Solution: Working with a copy writer we came up with the idea of the ‘Leave it out Ken’ campaign choosing to house it on Facebook and target it at the already huge population of current fans on the RBL Facebook page. Taking a role on the concept development, design and implementation overseeing the front end development work we wanted to push the boundaries of Facebook and bring the e-petition to the fans via social media. To reward and spread the campaigns voice we gave users a personalized dog tag uploaded to their Facebook wall once they had filled out the e-petition. From there they could tag themselves and two friends who they thought would also join the Leave it out ken movement. We also offered them a way to leave a message for bereaved soldiers wives giving more leverage to the Royal British legion in parliament. A mico-site was also incorporated for SEO purposes and to leverage the ability for users to leave messages for bereaved Widows which would prove as more back up for British legion.
The campaign was a huge success with thousands of supporting comments left to bereaved widows. Also Thousands of emails were sent to every single MP (650 in total) which helped influence the decision to remove the Chief Coroner’s Office from the Public Bodies Bill. The Facebook app e-petition generated over 10,000 users every month. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-15859410
