- Digital, Facebook App,
Brief: Method needed a way to raise awareness of their new hero product, Daily Shower Spray, as well as boost the overall Method brand online. Method wanted to engage their small and unique base of existing followers and also capture a greater fan base.
Solution: Our aim was to tie in the fun, vibrant tone of voice of the Method brand, whilst highlighting its positive downstream effects on the environment. Taking lead role in idea and concept generation through to design and front end development guided by my Head of Art. We came up with the simple idea of sharing a shower on the Method Facebook page.
We created an application that allowed users to share a virtual shower with any Facebook friend or celebrity, by choosing a picture of each others face and a body type, along with a choice of a funny utensil (loofah, rubber chicken or chocolate spread). Followed by a fun, extravagant and creative story lines brainstorm, we animated these crazy scenes to let the shower fun begin! Th ultimate goal being each animation scene lead to a lot of shower mess that was quickly cleaned up after a few squirts of Methods Daily Shower Spray. Users can upload their Facebook shower photo to their wall, share their animation video, redeem a voucher for the Share a Shower product, and win lots of goodies.
In the first three weeks, the campaign generated 2,868 new fans on the global Method Facebook page, and 62% of all people coming onto the Facebook page liked it because of the app. The Share a Shower campaign has saved 140,994 virtual litres of water (63 litres per shower shared), 17% of the app’s users returned to repeat the Share a Shower fun, average time spent engaging with the brand per person on the site: 2:44, the first 500 of the 1,000 available Method Shower Spray money-off coupons were downloaded in the first two weeks and it was Featured on the Facebook Studio Gallery.
