Well sleep was fairly average. Woke up and jumped straight onto my RSS feeds again and came across another article about Art and the community it was basically discussing, weather art should be embraced as a community or individually and then went onto talk about many aspects of togetherness and apart. Take a look at a brief part of it below:

This slogan can serve as a kind of a metaphor of the processes taking place in the contemporary world. Both individuals and the whole societies are faced with such a choice. Do they want to live together, contribute, collaborate and, as a result create shared value, or do they want to lead a separate, individual life of their own? Is it better to be single or in a stable relationship? Is it better to focus on the common or individual good? Is being a member of a larger organisation, like the European Union better than staying apart? Is it better to feel a part of your nation or rather an individual citizen? The possible interpretations are multiple. Or maybe it is possible to combine those two attitudes: take care of your own, personal development while joining forces and working together with others? So, together or apart?

So this got me thinking about how I would display togetherness or apart, things such as teams, games and friends came straight to mind. As a team I guess your generally stronger and achieve more, or is that true? As and individual you can be sneaky and stealth like and independently clever and unique. In teams arguments occur and group leaders form sometimes not to the liking of others. By yourself you don’t always come up with the best solutions and can take a while to solve problems. In all aspects of life people work together or apart. Countries work alone in war or together, our life is governed by people working together for the good of man kind even though their opinions may differ from others it is said that we are stronger together and also  more powerful. At work I found a balance, when receiving a creative brief I tended to approach it in my own way at first then collaborate with my peers to gain their opinions and constructive feedback, we would then finalise and refine it as a team, a process of being apart and then coming together. I found when I first arrived down London I was alone and didn’t have friends to live with or help with the London way of life. So I felt apart from my friends and family, once my friends had moved  down and we got a place together all that changed as I felt together again with them and in a group of people. Its difficult to express how this feels and it certainly affected me when I was in a environment of being apart to when I was in an environment of being together, so I decided to portray this in a way that I felt communicated it for me.

So I then thought about when I was younger and how I used play on my consoles with my friends all the time but then sometimes they would piss me off because they die, or loose us a life or because they weren’t as good as me, or sometimes to good ! Isn’t it great being a kid. I then started exploring together and apart in retro well know games. I thought up games what are individual and can accomplish alit but also in the same game you can be together and accomplish alot. The final outcomes for today were three posters featuring “PACMAN” “PONG” and “SPACE INVADERS” all showing togetherness and apart:
