First Week Working In London

iMac 512 Off2 518x149 First Week Working In London

Well…. Better late than never. I ve now been working in London for over 2 months, so why call this post my my first week in London? Well for anyone that’s worked or is working in London will know your life flies before you eyes like theres no tomorrow. It literally just feels like yesterday when it was my first nervous week working in a new big creative company.

Obviously what strikes you immediately is the shear size of the place. And yes their maybe the tube! But believe me in rush hour its worth getting up 30 min earlier and having a nice pleasant stroll to work rather than feeling like a trapped sweaty sardine! To top that I realized the main rules of the tube:

1) Never talk to anyone

2) Never talk to anyone

3) Never talk to anyone

4) Finally never smile, wave, wink, or just generally making any human connection to anyone…

otherwise I’m pretty sure people think your a freak. Best call of action; Get the free Paper, find your corner, lean against it, headphones in and just read whilst you sweat. Oh and by the way don’t bother getting a shower in the morning it only takes 2.47 min on the tube to smell of the persons breath in front of you, the persons sweat behind you and feel just as bad as the person who you can tell has not slept in days, to the side of you.

But London being London it has this awsome buzz about it, you feel good walking to work in your smart trousers and shirt. You feel as though you ant to get up and work because thats what everyone does in London so its not like your missing out. I really do understand the meaning of working for the weekend, and my god that weekend comes round fast.

When it does come their are endless attractions, bars, clubs, shops, people, shows, theaters, its got everything. Plus coming from the North its much hotter down here and so your freezing your finger ends off whilst walking around and visiting the sites. Another great thing is the shear amount of gyms…Everyone seems to workout, endless cyclists and runners jog to work, jog on their dinner and jog back after work! I’ve never seen a gym so busy at 7:00am. Overall the London is cool but life is fast and it can be lonely until you get your wear abouts and meet people. I’m lucky enough in my job to work with fantastic people who’ve really made me feel welcome and told me loads of places to see and things to do, plus they love a drink and a good laugh.

Would I live in London for Life = No

Would I work here for many years = Yes

Its certainly the way forward, living outside of London and commuting in; The prices are lower, living is cheaper and the areas are nicer. For anyone coming to London its exciting, over whelming and so so diverse… You’ve just got to do it!

A waste of time or a great innovational piece? It can be folded into any size box and a wide range of  different shapes, handy for all those awkward pieces of Ebay items you need to send. I wonder how solid the box itself is?

Day 5

Well terrible night sleep last night…Why cant someone invent something so that we don’t have to sleep anymore! Also smashed something in the morning whilst getting it out of the dish washer, so overall bad start to the day. From this it got me thinking about other things that can smash, or more so that cant smash but could possibly be made to look like they have so I started to More »

Day 4

Well same old usual sleep, weather is looking pretty grim outside which I should expect I suppose being in England. Today was pretty simple I looked around my room for things I could shape into objects. I wanted to use something that I could manoeuvre and keep together whilst creating a form, similar to peeling an orange all in one go! So I used some string and toilet paper to More »

Take a look at a brief part of it below: More »
